What is a collier?

The collier is a particular and famous type of necklace that rests around the neck encircling it entirely due to its length, which is usually between 45 and 50 cm.

It is a jewel that already existed in antiquity and gained greater notoriety in the 1800s.

The first collier models developed around a central element supported by a cord or a fabric band a few centimeters high.

Subsequently, it was totally reinterpreted with more elaborate and complex processes that saw the use of precious gems such as diamonds or strings of pearls, making this necklace an indispensable jewel for many noblewomen.

Over the years this necklace was revisited numerous times, while retaining its position as the most well-known jewel, because it highlights one of the most sensual parts of the body: the neck.
