Description
THERE'Apatitis is a calcium phosphate that crystallizes in the hexagonal system. Its name comes from the Greek apatà which means "engaging", because physical properties resemble those of other gems such as tormaline and elongation.
Not only does the physical properties "engaging", but also the wide range of colors in which this gem exists, often creates difficulties of recognition with other gems. In fact, there are many colours such as green, blue, purple, yellow and colourless.
The freshwater pearl is composed of calcium carbonate and born from the bivalve mollusc called Hyriopsis schlegeli that lives in lakes and rivers mainly of China.
