Description
The Burmese amber is among the oldest fossil resins present in the world; his age is
of about one hundred million years; is older than almost sixty million years than that of
Baltic, and almost seventy million years from Dominican.
It is located in a region in northern Burma, bordering China and India.
It has a blue fluorescence sometimes very intense.
Being older is also harder and harder to cut and work.
The Burmese amber comes from forests, extinct, which were very close to the sea, in fact the
fossils present within certain specimens are more unique than rare, in fact, in addition to the inevitable
insects, were found fossils of marine animals (small ammonites, crabs) and remains of small
dinosaurs.
